Raise your hand if you love Indiana Jones. OK, now raise your other hand if you love Yoda. Ok now lower your hands, grab your car keys and let's go, because it's time for an adventure!

Would you believe you can see both Indy and Yoda in the same place other than on a TV, movie screen or your local comic con? Well, would you believe that you can see them both for free? And would you believe that you can relax or eat lunch in their presence? Welcome...to Imagination Park.
Imagination Park is not your average park. For those of us who love George Lucas, it's like he took a bit of Hollywood and dropped it in San Anselmo, minus the paprazzi. The park is a great place to relax, eat your lunch or read a book...all in the shadow of bronze statues of Indiana Jones and Yoda. Both statues are iconic characters from George Lucas' franchises.

George Lucas has lived in San Anselmo for over 40 years. He bought the land, donated it and also paid for the park plans. The land is just down the road from where he lives and of course he would want to pay hommage by connecting Yoda and Indy with the Marin County town where the characters were both created.

The park is located next door to the San Anselmo City Hall. It's on land that used to house a commercial building, owned by George Lucas, that stood vacant for many years. So instead of holding onto an empty building he tore it down and donated the land. It opened in 2013 with a huge ceremony where George Lucas unveiled the small park with a curving walkway, beautiful lawn and trees, and of course the two statues poised on either side of a fountain. It's amazing how such a small park can hold such a big presence.

The Indiana Jones statue stands over 6ft. tall, with trademark fedora! His whip is in hand and he looks like hes ready for an adventure at any moment. Make sure to check out the skull hidden in the base, it adds to the mystery.

Wise old Yoda is on the back of the fountain and it feels like he's waiting to teach in the jedi ways. Seek him out, you must. Toss coins in fountain, you must.

If you speak geek like us then this isn't just another park, it's a landmark. A landmark for memories of our childhood. A chance to be close to the righeous two who made us adventure for lost treasures and taught us to "do or do not...there is no try."
